New program bringing farmers into gym
A new program aims to bring farmers in the Pittsworth region into the gym for fun and fitness.

Active Farmers has arrived in Pittsworth, led by local trainers Dan Facer and Lindy Wilson of Hound Dog Fit.
The not-for-profit health promotion charity brings together small farming communities through regular group fitness in a
fun and interactive environment.
CEO Justin Sampson said Active Farmers was a grassroots approach to rural health and wellbeing.
“We provide motivational and fun training sessions to communities that may not otherwise have these services,” Mr Sampson said.
“Our research shows that when we bring people together through exercise it improves both physical and mental health of participants.”
Active Farmers was established in 2015 and hopes to expand to as many rural communities as possible, working to build stronger and more resilient communities.
With the addition of Pittsworth, Active Farmers will be servicing 55 small farming communities.
Trainers Dan and Lindy at Hound Dog Fit will offer the Active Farmers classes and, to celebrate, Pittsworth and surrounding residents are invited to attend the first Active Farmer class at Hound
Dog Fit on Wednesday, October 5, at 11am.
Dan and Lindy bring a huge amount of enthusiasm and passion for the health of the Pittsworth community, and are excited to be running the classes for all levels of fitness and experience.
Active Farmers sessions will primarily focus on outdoor-style training and all are $10 per participant, which is payable on the day.
