New Bridge For Allora Golf Course
In late 2022 the Allora Sports Club received $179,974 in grant money to be used in part for building a new bridge to access the Golf Course.
This original bridge has born the brunt of many floods over the past 26 odd years and while it is serviceable it will continue to deteriorate with continued flooding.
Funding was allocated by the Queensland Government Community and Recreational Assets Recovery and Resilience Program.
The other part of the funds have been used for drainage and repairs to creek banks and creek washouts.
Today, 1st May, sees the start of construction of the new bridge, near the 9th green.
Golfers are advised that access to the golf course will be through Stuart Henry Park, across the bridge on the 9th fairway.
The bridge will be closed until further notice.
