Ms Simpkins is a Registered Nurse with an extensive portfolio of relevant tertiary qualifications to post-graduate level.

Having enjoyed a nursing career spanning most aspects of aged and community care, much of which has been in rural areas, Ms Simpkins’ most recent role was that of Director of Nursing and Facility Manager for a rural Multipurpose Health Service featuring acute care, aged care, community and allied health.

As a result, she is passionate about clinical excellence and delivering person-centred, place-based care for the benefit of those living in regional Australia.

“As my family and I have resided on a farm in the Clifton area for a number of years, I am particularly excited to be joining CCHS, given the critical role our team plays in our local community.” Ms Simpkins said.

CCHS Board Chair, Andrew Douglas said he welcomes the appointment.

“The Board is most pleased to welcome Ms Simpkins to the team and is excited by the opportunity that the new Executive Director team, comprised of Ms Simpkins (Executive Director – Operations) and Mr Rodney Watton (Executive Director – Community), presents for CCHS as we strive for continual improvement, service excellence and sustainability in pursuit of vibrant, empowered and healthy rural communities,” Mr Douglas said.

As it welcomed Ms Simpkins, the Board also extended its thanks to Mr Watton who, since the Executive Director - Operations role became vacant last July following the departure of Ms Wannapa Foytong, has taken responsibility for the Operations portfolio in addition to his substantive Community portfolio.

“This has been a significant piece of work requiring considerable time, effort and focus and we are grateful to Rodney for his having assumed the extra duties for this extended period of time,” Mr Douglas said.
