“He supports us with Hellfire, Buster, and all the incoming lines growing sorghum, I think it’s a hundred per cent Pacific Seeds right across the farm, and we do appreciate that,” Pacific Seeds Territory Manager, Bill Smith said.

It was a special moment for Colleen Mundt to see her son receive this prestigious award, after Mrs Mundt and her late husband Rodney were presented with the very same trophy in 2006, working the same property at Yandilla.

“Lloyd Gillam won it twelve months ago, [he’s] a very successful farmer from Brookstead, he can never do enough for the community,” Mr Smith said.

If was fortunate that Mr Gillam was present on the night to pass on the perpetual trophy to Mr Mundt.

Trial Cooperator of the  Year was presented to Lyn Brazil of Brazil Farming at Brookstead by last year’s winner, Michael Hegarty, also from Brookstead.

Mr Smith said Mr Brazil provides Pacific Seeds with
25 acres every year to conduct their research trails.

The Agent of the Year award was presented to Nutrien Ag Solutions.

“[This is] a top shelf award, it’s great to see these green shirts right through the room tonight,” Mr Smith said.

“They operate not only out of Toowoomba but Oakey, Colonsay and Pittsworth, and they’re well presented tonight.”

Other awards on the night were:

Field Service Award: CRT Raff Group from Millmerran, Pittsworth and Clifton.

Grower Focus Award: Pursehouse Rural from Pittsworth, Clifton, Cecil Plains, Warwick, Allora and Melrose.
