On Saturday Bowenville won the toss and took a wicket in the first over at Millmerran Cricket Ground but that was the only joy for the side on  the day.

After losing the toss the minor premiers went on the attack with the bat.

Daniel Betts with 74 off 47 balls and  Jimmy Sinclair 63 off 46 balls really took to the Bowenville bowlers and Trent Mullins with a rapid 49 from 26 balls clearly showed the game was theirs to win.

Chris Devine scored 34 off 38 balls, Steven Lindeque made 18, Alex Sinclair 16 and Alex Kahler 13 while Hamish Birch, Luke Sadlier and Brendan Schaumburg  had duck for dinner.

The impressive total of 296 all out in 40th over on any day was a winning score, let alone in a final, and proved a mountain too high.

Best bowlers for Bowenville were Ajay Kumah and Jayden Lee who took 3 wickets each, Guhlam Mustafa with 2 wickets and Lockie Lee one wicket and one run out.

Bowenville never really got going after the openers Ghulam Mustafa 21 and Chaz Cheatley 12 were cleaned up by Hamish Birch who also bowled Jayden Lee for 3 and the rot had set in.

No one else made double figures and the ducks continued for 3 more players.

Hamish Birch with 3/20 off 6 overs, Jimmy Sinclair 3/10 off 4 overs and Brendan Schuamburg 3/15 off 5 were the chief destroyers and Dominic Briggs cleaned up the last wicket in his first over.

Millmerran’s James Sinclair was Player of the Final.
