Millmerran Show shines

The 87th annual show was held at Millmerran over the weekend with a high standard of competition exhibited across all sections, and some lighthearted entertainment enjoyed by many.

Entertaining crowds on Saturday afternoon at Millmerran was Jurassic Party with its reptile and snake shows. Children were able to experience holding a Pilbara Olive python, aptly named Kalamata.

President of the Millmerran Show Society, Pat Lunney said this year’s show was another success.

“It was well supported by the public and the community,” Mr Lunney said.

Highlights from the weekend included the Super Sire Challenge on Sunday, which was part of the Stud Cattle section.

Spectators were asked to be involved in the judging with $200 in prizes up for grabs.

“The new competition in the stud cattle was very popular as it had more participation by the public,” Mr Lunney said.

“It will only grow next year.”

The dachshund dash was also a hit again this year with a great line up of snags, and it proved quite entertaining for the crowd.

Not as entertaining as the Millmerran Business Challenge mind you, which saw five businesses go head to head in a range of novelty games including an egg and spoon race, three legged race, and tug of war.

Such fun!
