Millmerran Show is shaping up to be a cracker
The annual Millmerran Show is fast approaching and promises plenty of fun for the whole family.
The 87th annual show will be held over the weekend of 2 and 3 March, and there is a full lineup of events and entertainment planned.
Show jumping, sheep dog trials, stud cattle, prime lambs, poultry and birds will all be showcased over the weekend.
The Australian stock horse classes have been revamped this year, with the edition of a Stockman’s Challenge.
Entry forms and patterns are available on the show society website.
The Campdraft will run over the weekend, with the Stockman’s Challenge on Saturday, followed by hack and breed classes on Sunday.
Saturday entertainment includes a new science show for kids ‘Big Bang Education’, and the Reptile Show.
New to the program this year is the Millmerran Business Challenge.
Businesses are invited to register teams of four to compete in novelty games on Saturday afternoon in the rodeo ring from 3.30pm.
After it’s success last year, the Daschund Dash will return to the arena on Saturday from 4.30pm.
The Show Society hopes it will have another big lineup of snags again this year!
Cooper Jones will be playing live music during the day.
The Saturday evening entertainment kicks off at 5.30pm with the rodeo and the bar will be open till late.
A barbecue tea will be available and live music by ‘The 78 Sound’.
Fireworks will light the sky from 8pm.
There will be plenty of fun and games for the kids over the weekend with Sideshow Alley, Viv’s Farm Animals, Laser Skirmish, Bungee Rock Wall, Balloon Twisting and Face Painting, on the cards.
The wood chopping competition is on Sunday at 9.30am, featuring a new 275mm Ladies Underhand and 275mm Ladies Novice Underhand section.
The pavilion will be open to view Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 9am-3pm.
Sections include art, food and cookery, horticulture, needlework, photography, quilts and wall-hangings, school work, farm produce, fruit and vegetables, and wool.
Online tickets are available via www.trybooking.com/CMYZX with early bird pricing on weekend passes up until 11.59pm Friday before the show.
Tickets can also be purchased at the gate.
The show office will be open one week prior to the show on Tuesday from 12.30-4.30pm, Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am-4.30pm.
