Men’s soccer returns to Oakey
Oakey Soccer Club will field a men’s side for the first time in several years.
The new Oakey men’s soccer side, which will take to the field later this year.
Soccer Club President Katie Gillespie said the club had received many expressions of interest.
“It’s looking like we’ll have two men’s and a senior women’s side,” she said.
“That’s if everyone signs up who said they would sign up.”
Sign-ons are open for both juniors and seniors until March via the Squadi app.
The Oakey Soccer Club has fielded men’s sides in the past with the club making Division I and Division II Grand Finals in 2013.
The club’s Annual General Meeting was held in early December where Katie was elected President.
The other positions were filled by David Gillespie (Vice President), Amanda Hogan (Secretary), Aimee Collins (Treasurer).
