Men's Shed car show draws whopping big muster of 164 vehicles

The Pittsworth & District Men’s Shed Car Show - a fundraiser for It’s a Bloke Thing, drew an impressive display of vehicles and big crowds under sunny skies at the Pioneer Village on Sunday.

Special projects manager from the Men’s Shed Merv Hinneberg said the day was an outstanding success in every way, attracting 164 vehicles and raising funds for prostate cancer research and awareness. 

Vehicles came from across the Darling Downs, Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. 

Seven trophies were handed out: 

Best Ford: a 1970 GT XY Falcon owned by Harris.

Best Holden: a 1978 HX owned by Dennis.

Best Chrysler: Alan’s 1973 Valiant Pacer. 

Best Original Vehicle: Jim’s 1938 Morris 8.

Best Imported Vehicle: Dennis’s 1959 F100.

Best Hot Rod: Rob and Ann’s T23 Bucket. 

Best Car in Show, ‘King of the Road’: Lawrence’s 1960s era Bedford truck.

The raffle - with a holiday prize of two nights accommodation at Newport Apartments, Mooloolaba, donated by Dan Sullivan, and $1000 spending money was won by Roy Gee.  

The Hundred Dollar Board was won by Narelle Fraser.

All proceeds raised go to It’s a Bloke Thing and funds raised are being matched dollar for dollar by the Federal Government.  

No decision has been made on the name for the raft that will be used for
A Shed Down the Murray.
