Matthew Qualifies For Tokyo Olympics
Australian Discus Thrower and local Allora hero Matthew Denny threw a personal best of 66.15 metres at the Gold Coast on the weekend to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

After an interrupted season with no international competition due to Covid restrictions and suffering rib injuries which put him back over 3 months, Matthew is very excited to have qualified.
Currently ranked Number 8 in the World, Matthew is the only Allora athlete to have competed at two Olympic Games - the other being Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
The Tokyo Olympics will be held from Friday 23rd July to Sunday 8th August with Matthew flying out of Australia early July.
