Man dies after incident near Aubigny crossroads
An elderly man died following an accident at a Linthorpe address early on Monday morning.
Emergency services responded to a call out for help just before 7am at the private address.
Emergency services responded to a call for help to Linthorpe next to the Aubigny crossroads where they found an 84-years-old man in a critical condition, trapped under a vehicle.
Ambulance paramedics worked to restore the man’s condition but were unable to help him and he died shortly after.
It’s unclear at this stage how the incident happened, but the man was found next to his gate and may have been there for some time beforehand.
It’s understood the vehicle was still in reverse when the man was found at on the edge of his property, and it appears he was trying to close the entrance gate to the property when he got out of the car.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
