Police were called to a property on Bongeen School Road just before 7pm to reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, the male patient was located by police and a rescue helicopter was tasked to property.

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight chopper landed in a paddock near the scene, and the crew was met by Queensland Police officers and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics.

The patient was treated by a LifeFlight critical care doctor for injuries to his torso.

A QAS spokesperson said the man had injuries to his eyes and the back of his head.

A short time later, police took a 27-years-old male from Wilsonton into custody at Purrawunda.

Detectives from Toowoomba’s Criminal Investigation Branch have charged the male with one count of wounding.

Police Sergeant Andrew McNab said the men were known to each other.

“The suspect arrived at the scene to collect something from the victim, and an argument ensued that resulted in the wounding,” Sgt. McNab said.

The accused appeared in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on September 14 where he applied for bail, which was granted with strict conditions.

He was not required to enter a plea.

The case was adjourned to the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on October 4.
