Approximately 100 local and past residents of the Maclagan district gathered on Saturday at the Maclagan Hall for a reunion get-together and luncheon.

Guests came from as far away as Hervey Bay and Ipswich to enjoy catching up with old residents and friends of the town.

Guests included former owners of the Maclagan store Cicely and Keith Dunbar of Hervey Bay, former truck driver for the Maclagan Valley Cheese Factory Vern Achilles, the current and former owners of the Quinalow Garage, Arnold Jensen and Malcolm Ambrose, four generations of the Ambrose farming family, along with former members of the Silver Star Dance Band Ian and Les Weedon, who played at country dances across the district.

Entertainment was provided by Les Weedon on his accordion and a small theatrette which showed old recovered movies of the town and district from days gone by.

The day finished on a high note as  guests were advised of the next events at the hall being a Photo Exhibition on 26th August and the Maclagan Squeezebox  20th anniversary Festival due to be held on 14th October 2023.

With thanks to Naomi and Graham Garvis for providing material for this report.
