Jondaryan’s Maddison Skuse, was born and raised in Roma, but now calls the local family farm home.

The 17-year-old student at St. Joseph’s College in Toowoomba plays as an
all-rounder for the Newtown club which won this year’s competition in a penalty shootout over Past High.

It’s Skuse’s first official season in the top-flight, although she had been playing up here-and-there in the two years prior.

Past High had three local players on its team with Highland Plains sisters Molly and Emily McKewen starting alongside Brymaroo’s Ebony Panzram.

The McKewens come from a hockey family, with Dad McKewen also playing A Grade, and picked up the sport at an early age.

Older sister Emily plays midfield, while Molly is a goal-scorer up front.

Panzram also comes from a hockey family, and acts as a competition referee.

If you’d like to get into hockey, a “Summer 6ers” competition will be running at Club Glenvale.
