Local team cleans up at Crossfit state champs
A team from Oakey’s FuncFitnessCentre has won across divisions at a recent Masters League Invitationals (Oceania) event, held in Moreton Bay.
To compete, prospective contestants needed to complete four open workouts at their own affiliate, Gym or Training Facility.
“Movement standards will be provided and you will need your workout judged and verified by a CrossFit Coach, Certified CrossFit judge or a Certificate Level III or IV Trainer,” the criteria read.
Divisions: When you register you are required to enter as a Soldier (Beginner), Warrior (Intermediate) or Hero (Advanced) depending on your ability.

Coach Renee Graham said she’s very happy with the team’s performance.
“I am so extremely proud of how they performed on the weekend, the crew worked so hard and gave it there all and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome!” she said.
“We were there from 6.30am until 7.30pm that night it was such a big day but all well worth it by the end!”
Husband Terry Graham said he enjoyed the experience of travelling and supporting his teammates at the event.
“I wasn’t expecting it, but the plan was it was a high possibility,” he said.
“It was great - we cheered each other on and made it to all the events.”
The success follows Renee’s victory in her category at last year’s Australasian championships in Rotorua, New Zealand.
Each Australian state and New Zealand had two entrants for each of the six segments, which involved workout combinations.
Renee and her team will head tor Orange for the 2024 Australasian Championships, scheduled to take place in October.
