Local success at national championships
A few local bowlers travelled to Devonport, Tasmania recently to represent their state by competing in the 2022 Australian Indoor Bowls Championships and came home with some medals.
Silver medallists Angus Young and Cathy Young.
It was a family affair as mother and daughter combination Bev Brown and Sheree Lynam won bronze in the ladies pairs competition.
A mother and son combination, Angus and Cathy Young, won silver in mixed pairs competition.
Angus has also recently returned from representing Australia in the Trans-Tasman test match against New Zealand, held in Ballarat.
All of these bowlers play regularly in Toowoomba and some names may be familiar from the Nobby Indoor Bowls notes.
