Neil Pacholke and Leanne Ridley from Sunny Lawn Brafords were excited and shocked by the win.

They believe that Sunny Lawn Felix 1473 (P) is an outstanding 22-months-old Braford bull but never thought he could take out the top title, with 53 bulls entered from across Australia.

The competition is an online opportunity to promote a stud’s top bulls that are for sale during 2022.

It is judged over three sections – Bos Indicus, British and European breeds by three judges.

The top five place-getters from each section are then judged by the three individual judges in the Interbreed final, which this year saw the Braford bull from Sunny Lawn come out on top as the only bull to earn points from each judge.

Sunny Lawn Felix 1473 (P), born 29 August 2020, is a homozygous poll son of Donrinda K026 Kentucky who has bred well in the Sunny Lawn herd.

Felix has that extra muscle expression, length, balance, structural correctness and sire appeal that has earned him attention not only throughout the Braford breed but also by cattle breeders in general.

Felix 1473 was Junior Champion at the St George Braford Feature Show held in May and was also a part of the winning pair of bulls.

He was joined by Sunny Lawn Dresden 1484 (P), who was Junior and Grand Champion Female of the feature show at 17 months, and Sunny Lawn Dresden 1449 (P) who was Reserve Senior Champion Female to win the Breeders Group.

Dresden 1449 (P) then went on to win the Supreme Exhibit at FarmFest 2022 held, as reported previously.

Sunny Lawn bulls are sold at the two upcoming Braford sales.

They have two bulls and two females for the New Dimension Braford Sale to be held at Bell on the 28th of August.

For the National Braford Sale held at Rockhampton on 12 September, Sunny Lawn has 10 high quality bulls for sale.

Sunny Lawn Felix 1473 (P) is Lot 166 at the National Braford Sale.

Neil Pacholke and Leanne Ridley said they were excited by the win and truly humbled to see years of breeding being recognised.
