Local star Brown makes return to stage
Almost 300 people came to see local musician Jeff Brown made a successful return to local stages after a five-year absence at the Oakey Cultural Centre.

The part time truck driver from Mount Tyson was accompanied onto the stage by wife Lyn and twin sons Bill and Casey.
Jeff performed a mix of his own songs, Slim Dusty classics and a few American hits.
Ben Field from Gowrie Junction also made an appearance.
“First show back here since Covid,” he said.
“There were a whole new bunch of fans that I hadn’t seen before.
“People came from as far away as Stanthorpe, Biloela, Moree, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.”
“I don’t think I’d come that far to see me,” Jeff joked.
Jeff said that he had noticed that a forced break from performing gigs during the pandemic had noticeably impacted his mental health.
“I wasn’t as confident as I had been,” he said.
“When COVID hit, everything just fell over, and it’s a bit hard to get back into it.
“I’ve been doing a few festivals again and trying to support them. “
Jeff said he’ll be performing in numerous locations across eastern Australia in the next few months including at Twin Towns on the Gold Coast for Chad Morgan’s St. George Yellowbelly Country Music festival, Boondooma Homestead in the North Burnett and Capella in the Central Highfields.
He’ll also be touring with regular local performer Dean Perrett to Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Kumbia, Marburg in June.
Later on he’ll be back in St. George before heading south for Hats Off To Country.
