LNP recognises extensive service by Grundys
The Liberal-National Party (LNP) has formally recognised more than 70 years’ service to the Party by Oakey residents Pam and Roy Grundy.

The Grundys have been loyal members of the Party since they were young, when they belonged to the Country Party, which became the National Party, then, in 2008 the LNP.
At a special morning tea on Wednesday 2nd August, LNP Member for Condamine Pat Weir and South West Region chairman Peter Wilson joined members of local branches and Grundy family members, with Mr Weir presenting Pam and Roy Grundy with an Outstanding Service Award.
The presentation of the certificate was made at CWA House, where Mr Grundy is currently a resident.
Mr Weir spoke highly of the part played by the Grundys in supporting the LNP, stretching from opening their home for branch and campaign meetings to actively participating in booth work on election days.
He said they had been particularly supportive and encouraging during the time he first stood for election.
Mr Wilson referred to the many hours of voluntary work contributed by the pair.
The citation on the award certificate said: “Roy and Pam Grundy have, for over 70 years, given loyal and enduring commitment to the party’s values and beliefs, serving in diverse leadership and organisational roles commencing in the youth organisation then in the Oakey-Jondaryan and Old Gowrie branches, the state electorates of Condamine (and its predecessors) and the federal division of Groom.
“Over the years, Roy and Pam have made significant personal contributions to local party units including their home for functions and meetings, nurturing young and new members, mentoring candidates for state and federal elections; and trusted confidant for state and federal parliamentarians.
“Roy and Pam fostered policy development in the branch, through to state councils and state conventions at which they were active participants to ensure policies advanced regional communities and the state.”
