Laser light show for Toowoomba
Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has reaffirmed its support for the inaugural Eclipse Toowoomba – a LUNA Light Journey to be held in Easter of 2024.

“The updated timeline will see the event take place over a 23-day period incorporating the school holidays, in a less cool period of the year which will likely see an increase in visitor numbers and money being injected into our local businesses.”Environment and Community Committee Chair Cr James O’Shea said.
“Council was excited about the benefits for the community under the original proposal which forecast around $3.45 million into the local economy.
“While this event has successfully been held in other locations in Queensland, this will be the first time it’s come to our Region and promises to be an event for the entire family.”
Laser light shows such as the Livid Live display projected onto the sails of the Sydney Opera House in June this year have proven to be very popular with audiences but are more environmentally friendly than fireworks displays.
Laser light displays are often used as backdrops for rock concerts with bands such as Pink Floyd, The Who and the Electric Light Orchestra being pioneers of the early use of laser lighting for concerts.
Eclipse Toowoomba – a LUNA Light Journey will be an experience not to be missed and is scheduled to be open to the public from Friday 22 March to Saturday 13 April 2024.
