Large Donations Benefit Protea Place

Local members of Allora Scope Inc. Op Shop attended the Protea Place luncheon in Warwick on Saturday.

Daphne Whatley and Jill Bockman were pleased to handover a cheque for $5,000 to Amanda Dalton CEO and founder of Protea Place Inc.

Protea Place in Warwick is currently being renovated with completion expected by July this year.

Also at the luncheon were guest speakers Sue and Lloyd Clarke, parents of Hannah Clarke and her three children Aaliyah, Laianah and Trey who lost their lives as a result of domestic violence on 19 February 2020.

To honour the memories of their beloved family members The Clarke Family established Small Steps 4 Hannah to raise awareness and educate children and young people to identify coercive control behaviours and H.A.L.T the cycle of Domestic and Family Violence.

Small Steps 4 Hannah make distributions to eligible entities that provide intervention strategies and programs to prevent or H.A.L.T domestic violence in Australia, as well as supporting services for persons who have ex-perienced, or are at risk of, coercive control and domestic violence.

As a result of donations from the public Small Steps 4 Hannah presented a cheque for $25,000 to Protea Place Warwick.
