Keeping Our Volunteers Safe Workshop
upport the work of the group? If the answer is yes then Queensland Water and Land Carers (QWaLC) with the support of Condamine Catchment Management Association would like to invite you to a free workshop next Wednesday, 28 June.
The workshop is being held at The Rose Cottage, Pottinger Street Car Park, Newtown, Toowoomba starting at 10am.
QWaLC CEO Darryl Ebenezer is encouraging volunteers to take up the opportunity to participate in this free workshop.
“It’s essential for grassroots groups and associations to effectively improve skills in keeping your volunteers safe whilst carrying out the work of the committee,” Mr Ebenezer said.
“This workshop will cover the current insurance policies that assist in keeping volunteers safe.”
Condamine Catchment Management Association secretary Mary-Lou Gittins said the Darling Downs has a proud history of volunteering in numerous areas.
“Many volunteers are members of more than one group as our communities have limited population and are rural,” Ms Gittins said.
“This workshop will look at how we can engage and retain our valuable volunteers.
“CCMA is a long standing member of QWaLC and appreciates the valuable tools they offer.”
Groups will develop skills to strengthen social connection and community wellbeing with a range of tools that have been developed to assist them to operate effectively.
This workshop is a must for QWaLC members but is open to all community groups in the Queensland Murray-Darling area.
Morning tea and lunch are provided, therefore prior registration is essential.
