James Lister To Run Again
The Member for Southern Downs James Lister welcomed the close of nominations last week for the Queensland state election and the official drawing of the order of names on the ballot paper.
“Being our MP for Southern Downs is busy, rewarding and joy and an honour," Mr Lister said.
"I thank the people of Southern Downs for having me as our MP this term, and I am proud to put my name forward for re-election this year.
“As Shadow Assistant Minister for Veterans, I’m heading to Brisbane later today (Tuesday) to give a speech on the importance of education opportunities for veterans in reducing their risk of suicide, so I can’t be at the ballot draw in person.
“I wish all of my fellow candidates well. It’s wonderful to live in a country where anyone can stand for election and take their views and values into our democratic public debate.”
