It’s November, and you know what that means?

The jacarandas across the nation are in full bloom and Pittsworth is no exception.

The purple haze of jacarandas in flower are easy to spot, even from the sky, as shown by Garry Wilkinson Photography, who snapped this recent photograph overlooking Pittsworth.

Despite its widespread presence, the jacaranda is not native to Australia but originates from South America.

Some might consider the delicate, falling flowers a nuisance (especially if you’ve got a pool nearby) but its become an iconic symbol of Australian spring.

At Goombungee on the weekend, the Jacaranda Day festival welcomed thousands of people from across the Darling Downs to their town, including a busload of residents from The Grange.
