Highway deaths at Cooyar and Adare

Over the Christmas-New Year period, a Kleinton woman died on the Warrego Highway at Adare, while a Torquay man died on a New England Highway intersection at Cooyar.

Oakey -  motorcycle collision

One stable patient with a hand injury was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital following a crash on Oakey Crosshill Road at 12.47pm on Sunday afternoon January 5th

Upper Pinelands - motorcycle

One stable patient was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital following a crash on the corner of Stark Road and Brown Road at 8.06am on Sunday morning January 5th.

Charlton - single-vehicle rollover

Two stable patients were transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital following a crash on the Warrego Highway at 2.56pm on Sunday December 29th.

Highfields - e-scooter incident

A man in his 50s was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital with a leg injury following a crash on Reis Road at 2.41am on Friday December 27th.

Crows Nest - snake bite incident

A female patient in her teens was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital from a private residence at 7.52pm on Thursday December 26th.

Meringandan - fall from tree

One patient with significant head injuries was transported in a potentially life-threatening condition to Toowoomba Base Hospital after a fall from a tree on a private property at 10.49am on Boxing Day.

Cooyar - fatal two vehicle traffic crash

Police reported the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash in Cooyar on Monday December 23rd.

Emergency services were called to New England Highway at the intersection of Kingaroy-Cooyar Road just after 2.30pm.

Police established that a silver Toyota Rav4 was traveling eastbound on Kingaroy-Cooyar Road, when it sideswiped a grey Subaru Outback that was travelling in the opposite direction.

The Rav 4 continued on before crashing into a tree and rolling.

The driver, a 66-years-old Torquay man sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing.

Crows Nest - vehicle rollover

Paramedics and a rescue helicopter attended the scene of a crash on South Street at 8.22am on Monday December 23rd.

One patient was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a possibly life-threatening condition.

Westbrook - single-vehicle crash

Three patients were transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Toowoomba Bypass westbound at 4.11am on Saturday December 21srt including:

- One female patient in her teens with neck, chest and shoulder pain, who was transported stable.

- One stable female patient in her teens with neck pain, who was transported in a stable condition.

- One patient with abdominal and neck pain, who was transported in a stable condition.

Cecil Plains - prime mover on fire

No patients were reported when paramedics attended a prime mover fire on Cecil Plains Moonie Road at 8.15pm on Friday 20th December.

Adare - fatal two-vehicle traffic crash

Police are investigating a fatal two vehicle crash which occurred at Adare on Friday December 20th.

At 1.15pm, a Toyota Rav 4 and a Honda CRV were travelling in opposite directions on the Warrego Highway at Adare, west of  Gatton, when one vehicle veered into the opposite lane, causing a collision.

A 61-years-old Kleinton woman, a rear passenger of the Honda, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 21-years-old Honda CRV driver and the 68-years-old male front passenger were transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital for treatment.

The Toyota Rav 4 driver, a 78-years-old Wilsonton man, was also transported to Toowoomba Hospital for treatment.

A 73-years-old female, the Rav 4 front seat passenger, was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

A 12-years-old girl back seat passenger was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital and a 10-years-old girl back seat passenger was airlifted to Brisbane Children’s Hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Three stable patients were transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital following a crash on the intersection of New England Highway and Plaza Circuit at 11.45am on Friday December 20th.
