High School honours its 2023 students

The continuing strength of education provided to secondary students from the local area was reflected in the range of awards handed out at Clifton State High School’s well attended 60th Annual Presentation ceremony on Monday morning, 13 November.

The temperature at Clifton was heading for the thirties as the school community gathered for the ceremony.

In welcoming students, staff, parents and community members to the event, Principal Lou Oberholzer outlined a bright future for the school.

He said work already underway will see the new multi purpose hall, the new equine centre and new toilet blocks constructed.

The investment in these infrastructure projects totals about $11 million.

Mr Oberholzer said they are due for completion by the start of Term 3 next year, possibly sooner.

There is also promise of a significant milestone being reached in student numbers for 2024.

After a cohort of 292 for 2023, it appears that the total for next year could reach 320 - believed to be a new record.
