Halloween in Wyscreama
For those who are a little squeamish or easily spooked, it was better to be safely secured indoors as all sorts of scary creatures roamed the streets of Wyreema.
Wyreema Community Hall hosted its annual Trick or Treating Halloween event, which saw the participation of 560 registered kids and 37 registered houses.
Secretary of the Wyreema Community Hall Sara-Jane Howell said 2023 was the biggest ever event in the twelve or so years since it began.
“Thank you to everyone that came and supported our Wyreema Community Hall trick or treating Halloween event,” Mrs Howell said.
“We are blown away again with the amount of people that showed up.
“Thank you to all the registered houses.
“Without you this event would not happen.
“We hope everyone had an amazing time.
“Thank you to Emma from Toowoomba Regional Council for being our judge of the winning houses.
“We know you had a hard time picking the winners as there was so many outstanding ones! “
Mrs Howell also thanked all the volunteers who helped with the event.
“Thank you to all the members of the Wyreema Hall committee for your unwavering commitments each year,” she said.
“Thank you to every single house that registered. Without them we couldn’t have the event so we are extremely grateful.”
Mrs Howell said the annual Halloween Event has grown so big over the past 12 years and has been supported and loved by the entire town.
“We are always amazed by huge effort everyone puts in every year to make this event so fun and enjoyable by everyone involved,” she said.
Best decorated house winners
1st - Undefeated champions Nigel Phillips and Leanne Phillips, Balfour Street from Electrical Sensations. The judge had trouble entering the house as it was so scary!
2nd - Danielle Withers, Arwon Street, who had the coolest treats on the block and the most amazing decorations!
3rd - The Sheedy Family, McDougall Court, where the judge got the shock of her life getting a trick instead of a treat.
