Halloween in Wyscreama

A whopping 520 kids were registered for this year’s Halloween Trick or Treat event hosted by Wyreema Community Hall, which, despite wild weather early on, was a great success.

The 520 registered kids, who trick or treated at 32 houses, was quite a deal more than the number of kids, 450, who attended the last event in 2019.

The first time the event was held there were 100 registered children.

In fact, this year around a hundred or so children had to be turned away from the event as the hall was at its capacity.

Wyreema Community Hall Secretary Sara-Jane Howell said things did not go according to plan at the beginning of the evening.

“(We) had a bit of a hiccup at the start with a bit of wild weather while they were waiting in line to get their maps and wristbands, but they all ran in the hall till it subsided and off they all went,” Mrs Howell said.

She said she would like to thank all house registrations, the Wyreema community, the Wyreema Community Hall Committee and volunteers on the night, and Wyreema Store.

The winners of the best decorated house as voted by the trick or treaters were:

\t1st place - Nigel & Leanne Phillips

\t2nd place - Nicole Hoffmann

\t3rd place -  Troy & Louise Schroeder
