Mr Forrest was set to speak at the last breakfast in November, but the event was cancelled unexpectedly.

Approximately 20 gentle-man attended the breakfast to hear Mr Forrest’s witness of the impact of the Kairos program on the incarcerated and their families.

He also shared a little about his own journey that led him to being incarcerated.

Kairos is a Christian ministry that works to bring sustainable meaning and hope to the incarcerated, their families, and the people who work with them, in place of loneliness, isolation and despair.

The ministry is in response to the challenge issued by Jesus in the Bible, Matthew 25:36, ‘I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

Kairos began in 1976 as a ‘short course in Christianity’ in the United States.

Today the ministry has more than 30,000 volunteers.

The most recent Kairos Inside program for men was held at Wolston Correctional Centre at Wacol in December.
