Greenmount’s first win
After 18 years of participating in the Back Plains Speech Competition, which features many primary school students from around the district, Sam has secured Greenmount State School its first win.

Students from grades three to six are given the opportunity to hone their public speaking skills, covering a wide range of topics, in front of an audience of students and families.
A total of 23 students entered the competition from Greenmount, Emu Creek, Nobby, Wyreema, Clifton, Pilton, St Frances de Sales, Leyburn and Back Plains schools.
The winners were:
1st place: Sam - Greenmount State School
2nd place: Annabelle - Clifton State School
3rd place: Georgie - Back Plains State School
Encouragement Award: Andrew - Nobby State School
The three judges were Rita Davis, Sam Craig and Bernie Trimingham.
