The appearance on  Channel 7’s Sunrise program brought several local residents to the establishment for the chance to be on TV.

The pub has already appeared in Toowoomba-based media outlets as “The Qld pub you could own for just 200k”, although only the leasehold is up for grabs.

Local Publican  Tom Gaslevich told the Champion after the TV interview that he could not combine his job as an excavator-operator at New Acland Mine, run a pub and devote enough time to spend with his family.

The long time Goombungee resident, who took over the hotel in December 2021, showed the national television audience around the pub with his pet bulldog ‘Henry’ making a special guest appearance.

A callout to pub customers the night before saw a motley crew roll in shortly before the live cross, which was took place at 6.20am.

Long time staff member Del Mann, who has been on staff at the pub for 34 years,  had some unexpected but well-deserved TV time.
