Mt Tyson and several other pockets across the region were subjected to belting winds and rainfall as fierce storm cells moved across the region on Good Friday. Damage was also reported around properties between the village and the Oakey-Pittsworth Road. Reports varied from 50 to 70mm around Pittsworth and Mt Tyson but up to 70mm at Cecil Plains. Power outages occurred across the region with Ergon working for up to 48 hours in some places to return power. In some cases, tree branches, solar panels and bits of sheds ended up in paddocks hundreds of metres away. North of Mt Tyson on the Jondaryan Mount Tyson Road, there were reports of 80 to 100mm of rain in a short blast and several roads were cut towards Jondaryan and Oakey. Many paddocks were left flooded. How much rain did you get? And was there hail or damage at your property? Email details and/or photos to editorial@pittsworthsentinel.com.au.
