Three representatives of Clifton Ladies Golf were at the health complex on Friday morning and handed over a cheque for $1,200 to General Manager Brad Jones.

Ladies President Gloria Moore said the funds were raised predominantly at an auction held on the last day of the Golf Club Championships.

Goods sold at the auction were all donated by Members of the Golf Club enabling the Ladies and Members to provide the latest donation to the hospital.

“I’d like to thank them all for their kind donation so that we can give a cheque to the nursing home,” Mrs Moore said.

Mr Jones described the contribution as “very, very generous”.

“We really appreciate the ongoing support,” he told the ladies.

During the presentation, Mr Jones urged them and other local citizens to lobby the government for funding.

He said all small not-for-profit facilities like Clifton are suffering due to cutbacks in government funding.

Mr Jones said while this has impacted Clifton Community Health Services, many other similar services have been even more severely affected.
