Gabby's crack at second state title
Pittsworth's Gabby Wooler has just brought home the 2022 NSW State Whip Cracking Championship and this weekend has her sights set on the Queensland title.

Gabby, 22, wowed the judges on May 28 at the Australian Whipcracking and Plaiters Association event, held during Beef Week in Casino.
She now hopes to make it a double whammy when she tries for the Queensland state title at Boonah’s Clydesdale Spectacular this weekend.
Gabby learned whip cracking from her father, Andrew, but reckons she’s the teacher these days. Andrew is also competing this weekend, in the Over 45 cetegory.
Gabby has been riding horses all her life and works at the Lemontree Feedlot, Millmerran.
Having gained the NSW state title she is already assured a place in the national contest in 2023, but the Queensland championship would be the icing on the cake this year. In March, she placed third in the national event for 2022.
The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular runs from 8am till late this Saturday and Saturday at the Boonah Showgrounds, with the Whip Cracking Championship happening Saturday morning.
The Spectacular celebrates the history of the Clydesdale breed in Australia and will include pipe bands, billy boiling, whip plaiting, and blacksmithing demos and competitions, as well as working dog and horse events.
