Future of Jondaryan Mini Rail unknown
Friends of the Jondaryan Woolshed (FoJWS) Secretary Graham Turner said the group is actively investigating ways that the Jondaryan Mini Rail can operate in the future.
Mr Turner said the mini rail is a valued asset to the broader Woolshed site.
“As the governance of this asset is under the Jondaryan Model Engineers and Live Steamers Association Incorporated, there are requirements for that association to wind up their group, if that is their wish,” he said.
“So until this is actioned, we are unable to plan any opening of the asset.
“We have expressed with the President of Model Engineers and Live Steamers Association Jondaryan, our wish to enter into negotiations to have the FoJWS considered as a recipient in the wind up of their Association should that be actioned.
“We are aware there are other options available for the Jondaryan Model Engineers and Live Steamers Association to consider, however, until a decision is made, any plan to reopen the facility can’t proceed due mainly to the insurance cover required to operate such a facility.
“As you can appreciate, the difficulty facing TRC and FoJWS is in the hands of Jondaryan Model Engineers and Live Steamers Association making the decision on their intended future.
The Model Engineers and Live Steamers Association and its President were contacted for comment.
