QFES crews from Allora, Clifton and Warwick were joined by Rural Fire Service crews from Pratten and Nobby at the fire scene on Dalrymple Creek Road.

The haystack, measuring 40 metres long, 25 metres wide and five metres high, was well alight when the first firefighters arrived at around 1.15pm.

A QFES spokesman said a tractor was used to move hay bales, while a loader was used to create fire breaks around the stack to prevent the blaze from spreading.

The fire was brought under control by 3pm and a single fire crew remained on the scene to monitor the remainder of the smouldering hay.
