Festival of Small Halls comes to Cambooya
The touring folk concert Festival of Small Halls will be at Cambooya Hall on Friday October 29.
Presented by veteran festival producers Woodfordia Inc., the twenty-third edition of the not-for-profit music tour is taking on a fifteen-stop tour schedule with singer songwriters Darren Hanlon and folk-blues performer Kelly Brouhaha.
After years of touring the far-flung corners of Australia and the greater world, Gympie-based Hanlon has carved a sacred place in the hearts of many who cross his path with his candid and charming music and storytelling.
Not deterred by the COVID situation, Hanlon has managed to have a rich few years, appearing in and singing the credits of the new Slim Dusty bio-pic ‘Slim & I’ and garnering high radio rotation with his pandemic themed song ‘We All Cope in Different Ways’.
Tour mate Kelly Brouhaha is a South Australian-born award-winning songwriter – one of those artists whose unique style simply cannot be put into a box.
Brouhaha’s also known for lending backing vocals, percussion and guitar duties to some of the country’s finest including Beccy Cole, Jen Mize, Libby O’Donovan and Amber Joy Poulton.
The tour is travelling all over Queensland throughout October, from Cunnamulla to Charters Towers.
Adults tickets are $15 and children aged 16 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
Doors open 6.30pm and the show starts at 7pm.
The show is supported by Toowoomba Regional Council.
All proceeds will go to Cambooya Hall committee.
