Feedback sought on road widening at Felton
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has identified the Toowoomba-Karara and Southbrook roads intersection at Felton as requiring an upgrade and subsequently is seeking community feedback on the project.

The upgrade is part of safety improvements on Toowoomba-Karara Road from Todd Road, Cambooya, to Southbrook Road, Felton.
The $2 million project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments on an 80/20 basis and will improve road safety, network capacity and efficiency by widening the road, removing roadside hazards and improving signage and other visual and audible cues to help safely guide motorists.
In preparation for construction, TMR would like to hear from the community about two mature Eucalyptus coolabah trees located near the corner of the intersection.
The upgrade involves widening the intersection to provide additional shoulder width for vehicles turning left into Southbrook Road and additional shoulder width for passing vehicles turning right into Southbrook Road.
To ensure the safety of road users, this option requires the removal of the trees.
Pending feedback from the community, works will start in October 2021 and are scheduled to be completed in December 2021, weather and construction conditions permitting.
Contact TMR to share your thoughts on the proposed upgrade before Friday 1 October 2021 by calling 4639 0777 or emailing DownsSWR.Office@tmr.qld.gov.au
