Fathers come together for Barefoot Bowls afternoon
A crowd of Oakey State School fathers and father figures and their children took part in Barefoot Bowls & Barbecue event at the Oakey Bowls Club recently as part of the ongoing Dad’s Group program at the local school.

Oakey fathers and their children enjoyed an afternoon of fun and games at the Oakey Bowls Club.
The free event gave the fathers and father figures the perfect opportunity to have some one-on-one time with their children and create friendships with other local parents.
The Oakey State School P&C provided the barbecue and the Oakey Bowls Club members for opened the green especially for the event.
This is the last Dad’s Group event for the year with more events planned for Term 1 next year.
Led locally by teacher Brendan Dyson, the Dad’s Group program is an initiative of the Fathering Project organisation.
