Fallen vegetation on Gatton - Clifton Road below the range

Any motorists planning to travel on Gatton - Clifton Road between Fordsdale and Lower Tenthill should proceed with caution as vegetation has fallen on the road.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is advising that the fallen vegetation stretches a length of approximately 27km from the boundary of Toowoomba Region and Lockyer Valley Region at Fordsdale to the intersection of Gatton Clifton Road and Gatton Helidon Road at Lower Tenthill.

Both lanes are affected.

Due to heavy rain, flood warnings have been issued for roads close to Gatton Clifton Road in the area, with Back Ma Ma Road at Mount Whitestone closed in both directions and warnings issued for East Egypt, Dry Creek and Dry Gully roads in Mount Whitestone and Mount Sylvia Road in Upper Tenthill.

A weather station at Ma Ma Creek on Weather Underground has recorded 44.70mm of rain so far today which peaked at rate of 42.67mm an hour.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council workers are clearing debris and mud off the road.
