The couple underwent examination at Warwick Hospital but were not admitted.

Senior Sergeant Damian Grace of Allora Police said investigations revealed that the driver, a male from Willowvale, had fallen asleep at the wheel.

He was fined $619 and three demerit points were imposed for Careless Driving/without due care.

Sergeant Grace said driving whilst tired is one of the Fatal Five factors highlighted in relation to road crashes.

He reminded motorists to ensure that they do not drive when they are not fully alert.

Sergeant Grace said this is particularly important with the holiday period approaching, meaning there will be more traffic on our roads.
