Demolition To Happen This Weekend

Southern Downs Regional Council has advised that approval to demolish the old Allora Fire Shed Building has been granted.

With the approval now in place, Council will move relatively quickly to demolish the building.

The removal is required to allow other works to proceed, more specifically, to address the current situation with the septic tank system.

At this stage, Council says demolition is forecast to occur this Saturday 5th through to Sunday 6th October to minimise the impact on the community during the time of work.

The demolition of the Fire Shed Building is the first step towards the redevelopment of the site on the corner of Herbert and Drayton Streets, to be known as Allora Community Precinct.

This will then be home to a new look Allora Sports Museum and a more accessible Council Library.
