Days for Girls – Allora and District update
Last month’s Days for Girls Allora and District gathering saw the assembling of the kits for Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea.
![Some of the kits that were handed out to the ladies in PNG.](https://ournews-4634.kxcdn.com/img/containers/assets/news/days-for-girls-web-1695347073.jpg/7cee915344c3c936d59d5b0287b80ca2.jpg)
This is what the Executive had to say:
We assembled 120 kits and still have the 210 for the refugee consignment awaiting delivery.
We’re aiming to pack more kits for any of these areas at our next gathering on Monday 25th September at 9am in the Function Room, MacKillop House, Warwick Street Allora, next to St Patricks Church, entry via McKillop Lane.
The group recently completed ‘canteen duties’ at the Allora showgrounds for various events.
This will contribute towards our fundraising efforts. Thanks to the President and Committee of the Allora Show Society for asking us to assist and to everyone in the group who contributed as well as the showgrounds event patrons.
Our fundraising initiative Allora DfG “Container for Cash” account has had several donations so far.
People and businesses may like to use the code ‘C10749279’ when depositing their eligible containers and the refund will be directly deposited into the Allora DfG account.
Please contact Kaylene via the Allora DfG email if you would like containers to be collected or they can be brought along or dropped off at any monthly gathering.
Also, anybody wishing to donate their spare change, there is a donation box in Allora IGA and we appreciate their support.
