A GRADE

Pittsworth 42 - Oakey 8

After getting away with only a narrow victory in their previous match against the Bears this season, the Danes were wary travelling to Oakey on the weekend.

With numerous players unavailable, Under 19 players Lachlan Thompson and Ethan Brose slipped into an A Grade jersey for the second time this season, along with multiple boys stepping up from Reserve Grade.

It was a grinding affair early with both sides playing very physically and completing their sets.

Oakey blinked first with Tom O’Sullivan crossing for Pittsworth’s first try.

Oakey hit back with a try of its own before Kyle Brose got the hot hand, scoring three consecutive tries to give the Danes a commanding lead.

Subsequent tries to Tanti Pipi, Liam Short, Josh Lee and second for Tom O’Sullivan ensured a strong 42-8 victory for Pittsworth.

This week the Danes take on a resurgent South’s Tigers outfit at Gold Park.

RESERVE GRADE

Pittsworth 38 - Oakey 12

Travelling to Oakey on Sunday the Reserve Grade team came away with a 38-12 win achieved in cold and windy conditions.

A strong start resulting in two tries in the first five minutes, but errors and penalties crept into our game with us only managing one more try to Sam Fraser-Bellette in the first half.

Coming out after the half time break, we managed to score another two tries in the opening ten minutes of the second half before allowing Oakey an easy try under the posts.

We saw another try to Luke Hill and then Jake Johnston snatching a late try in the 69th minute.

Congratulations to Clay Dempsey who backed up from Under 19s and got himself a try also.

Hopefully this win will help us build momentum and finish the last three games strongly.

Players’ Player went to Ryan Cattarin followed by Brady Manktelow and Ausage Meauli.

Under 19

Pittsworth 0 - Dalby 44

It was make up round for 19s this week which meant we played Dalby for the third time this season.

We started well in the first 20 minutes of the game with our defence efforts keeping us in the end.

Dalby was able to get a bit of a roll on after that, going into half-time 24-0.

The second half the game got away from us, but it wasn’t from lack of effort the lads continued to work hard for each other in defence.

Aidan Bourke and Will Hanlon debuted for us this week stepping up from Under 17s.

It was a great help from the lads with both having a great game.

Will Hanlon’s hard work showed with his peers voting him Players’ Player.

He didn’t take a backwards step in both defence and attack.

Thanks again for another week, we will come back strong in our last three games.
