Danes send Hawks home with a win
Gatton Hawks scored a close-fought A Grade win in Pittsworth on Saturday but the B Grade and Under 19 sides managed to hold on for victory.

With both sides down on troops but plenty to play for, it was always going to be an exciting A grade match with the Danes taking on the Gatton Hawks.
The sides took turns controlling the match in the opening 25 minutes but the Hawks iced their opportunities better and raced to an 18-nil lead.
The Danes struck back before half time through some individual brilliance by full-back Brenton Clement, heading into the sheds down 18-6.
Confident that they could storm home if they took their chances, the Danes ran out in the second half ready to compete.
After some controlled play in which Pittsworth dominated the middle third, the Danes wrestled it back to 22-16 with 20 minutes remaining and all the momentum with the home side.
Unfortunately, the Danes were reduced to 12 men shortly after which proved too much to overcome.
Mitchell Revell and
Blake Cullen controlled the middle third and picked up the three and two points respectively.
Next up we close out the first half of the season with
an away game at Goondiwindi.

B Grade
A huge effort by the
Danes Reggie’s this week
saw us down the visiting Gatton Hawks 24-18 at the kennel.
Down 12-4 at the half time break, the boys knew they had to lift and they did just that.
Kyle Brose again led the way bagging another two tries to see him on top of the try scorers list.
Sam Martin also had a big game, along with Les Kofe and Tom Jeffrey.
It was also great to see Rian Cherry strap on the boots again and he’s definitely still got it!
Another important game against Gundy this week boys, let’s keep our momentum going!

Under 19
The goal this week
for the 19s was to have a positive attitude and better discipline in the game, as it was lacking the last few games.
So, as it was set we hit the ground running in the first half with an early try and great defence.
The boys continued showing up to help
each other out and put
the body on the line
which was a major factor with us heading into the sheds at half time in front 12-8.
After a well-earned breather Gatton started strongly and grabbed the lead, but with our attitudes ready to fight for the win
we got in front again and kept it for the rest of the game.
Within the last two minutes to go of the game Gatton got within two points, but the boys held on well and got the win.
Oscar Reynolds and Ethan Facer tied for the players’ player award with both working tirelessly
all game for the team
to help turnaround the advantage.
All round it was hard to split the best players
as everyone worked hard
and continued to do everything we asked of them.
