A GRADE

The Danes struggled against a highly impressive Valleys effort in round 1 of the TRL season.

Running out in front of a large Pittsworth home crowd, the Red and Green missed the jump and struggled to get back into the contest after leaking 18 points in the opening seven minutes.

Cameron Millar opened his season with the style of hard-working performance that we have grown accustomed to over the duration of his career.

The interchange players were also not disgraced
with impactful performances from Scott Hunter and Cody Evans.

Chayse Cavanagh toiled hard in his first round game for the club as he picked up the two points after big minutes in the middle of the field.

The boys will be looking to rectify things after Easter in our first away game against Highfields.

B GRADE

In a high quality game our Danes reserve grade went down to valleys 14-12.

The boys started well with Harley Saal and Jai Klein getting us going forward leading to Tom Jeffrey grabbing the first try of the game.

The rest of the game was a tight tussle with Jacko Griffiths scoring in the corner to give us the lead with a few minutes to go.

Unfortunately, Valleys scored a late try to steal the win.

Very happy with the effort boys.

If we keep that up we will have a successful season.

Players’ Player and the 3 points went to Harley Saal who was well supported by Darb Manktelow and Jai Klein.

UNDER 19

Boys started off well with some good efforts from the forwards in the first half.

Coming out in the second half after making some
errors and defending back to back on a hot day the Roosters slowly got the better of us.

Travis Gibbs played well and won the votes from the other players for the Players’ Player award.

Clay Dempsey and Kaleb Oberhardt also played well.

Plenty to learn from for the first game and we will be better for it for round 2 as we take on Highfields after the break.

See you at training this week and enjoy your Easter break.
