Reserve Grade

It was a strong performance in front of the Pittsworth home crowd, taking the win with a 40-0 score line.

All the 25-man team showed up and contributed to achieving our goal of keeping Goondiwindi to zero, largely to the chase down of a certain intercept try by Kallum Fraser-Bellette and the urgency from the rest of the team to get back and defend our goal line.

Most of our points came down the left side with
the seemingly untouchable Luke Hill scoring 4 of the 8 tries.

Our bench provided good impact with damaging runs from Jackson McInnes and strong carries and defence from Kaleb Reynolds and Ben Forster.

Players votes went to Kallum Fraser-Bellette, Jackson McInnes and Jordan Fraser-Bellette.

A Grade

The Danes started fast in front of a large home crowd, constantly pressuring the Goondiwindi right-edge defence in the opening stages of the A Grade clash.

Tom O’Sullivan, Jordan O’Shea and Laurie Jocumsen linked up on numerous occasions to make line breaks at will, but unfortunately the Pittsworth side couldn’t quite execute to pile the points on.

Poorly timed errors and cheap penalties encouraged the Boars to stay in the game, meaning the Danes only held a 12-6 lead at half time.

Pittsworth started the second half with an emphasis on defence and began to muscle Goondiwindi out of the game.

Similar to the first half however, pressure was released just as it started to build and Goondiwindi took the opportunities to ensure the game stayed within reach.

Fortunately for the home crowd, the Danes wrestled back momentum and stayed composed to cross the line
a couple times more and finish with a 32-18 victory.

Pittsworth will now have a week off before making the trip in to take on Brothers, in a fortnight.
