The Instrumental Music Certificate for most outstanding effort is awarded to the primary school student who has continually worked hard to improve their musical skills and knowledge as a first year instrumentalist. Isabelle from Year 6 received this award. Benjamin, from Year 5 received an Instrumental Music Achievement certificate. A Music Encouragement certificate is presented to a student who has shown dedication to improving their musical skills under the tuition of Mrs Leslie Telford. This year, Isadore from Year 5 received this award.
Darling Downs Representative medallions were awarded to Year 6 students Teeah for Rugby League and to Addison for Hockey.
The Sue Abernethy Memorial Award is given annually to a Year 3 student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. This award honours the memory of Sue Abernethy who passed away while in Year 3 and is a much cherished award and part of our primary tradition. This year, the Sue Abernethy Memorial Award was awarded to James.
The PEER Award (an acronym for Participation; Effort; Enthusiasm and Responsibility) is also the Karina Glass Memorial Trophy. Karina was in Year 6 when she was tragically taken in an accident. She was a quiet child who was popular with her classmates. Karina was responsible and keen to participate in all sport and class activities. She was enthusiastic about what she did and always gave her best effort. This year, Teeah has been awarded the PEER trophy.
