Competitors travel for Pony Club meeting
Riders from as far as Mt Mee to Goondiwindi and Proston competed over two rounds at the Oakey Showgrounds.
On Saturday (May 25) there were 138 nominations in the campdraft.
Like half of Oakey we lost power first thing in the morning for a couple of hours and then again over lunch time.
But we managed to keep going with the loan of a couple of generators from campers and Lake Lillerie Feedlot.
Thank you to Andrew Pentecost and Jason Beckman for carting the cattle that were kindly loaned to us from Acland Pastoral Company.
A big thank you to John Pentecost, Kerry Shepherd and Pat and Vanessa Lunney and everyone else who helped us out in the yards or on a gate.
On Sunday saw 105 riders with a massive 16 little riders in the aided any age group.
The weather was perfect and with no major mishaps all competitors were on their way home by 1.30pm.
Thank you to Ergon’s Community Support program for covering the first aid for the weekend.
