Cold But No Frost

The wind blew the frost away for this year’s Frostbite Rally, run by the Warwick Branch of the Historical Motorcycle Club of Queensland last weekend at the Allora Showgrounds.

Over 130 riders and pillions enjoyed the celebrations for the 30th Anniversary rally, with 100 bikes lured to the original rally site at Leslie Dam on Saturday by the promise of a free can of beer.

Saturday night dinner was provided by the Railway Hotel, preceded by the usual pumpkin soup appetiser and fire braziers to socialise around later in the night.

Other rides made full use of the nearby pubs, with a Friday morning ride to Maryvale followed by an afternoon run to Sandy Creek. On Saturday morning a few hungry riders made another excursion to the Clifton pie shop to enjoy their fine cuisine.

Short and long rides were run on Sunday morning in all directions around Allora, interrupted by a delicious smoko at the showgrounds and finished off with the awards presentation and a snag before all weary participants headed home.

Allora is looking forward to welcoming back the riders for next year’s Frostbite Rally.
